Starting a Painting Over: When the Initial Pass Just Sucks!
I thought it would be fun to document the destruction and rebirth of this painting, which is essentially about the endless renewal of the Universe!
I’ve been known to do this. I’ll start something and then later completely change my mind about the approach. When the painting is WAY off from where I want it to be near the beginning of creating it, it doesn’t make sense to try and make small changes to try and save it. Nope, this calls for a total reboot. So, with this video I will show you where it was, how I killed it off, and then talk about how to proceed.
Learn to cut your losses and start over before you waste dozens of hours only to end up with a mediocre painting. Bravery is rewarded by bold action. Just do it, take the plunge and destroy what you have created so that you may start again and be much happier in the end!
